May, June, & July Scripture Memory Challenge Verses (Our Children's Life Verses)
July
Deuteronomy 33:12 NIV
"About Benjamin he said:
'Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders."
This is our sweet Benjamin's life verse. It is our prayer that Benjamin will love the Lord and find rest in Him. We pray that the Lord will shield him all day long.
Zephaniah 3:17 ESV
"The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing."
We chose this verse for our baby girl, Elizabeth. We pray that she will always feel the Lord's gladness and love, and hear his loud singing.
June
Psalm 139:14 NIV
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."
We picked out this verse for Jonathan when I was pregnant with him. We knew when we found out that he had Down syndrome before he was born that God had an amazing plan for his life. God made him with an extra chromosome for a wonderful reason.
Micah 6:8 NIV
"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
On our first Sunday back at church with Rebekah, we sat towards the back and I held her. The pastor preached a sermon about this verse. I asked Harvey to mark it in my Bible, as I thought this would be a good verse for our new baby girl :). We pray that she will act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with her God all the days of her life.

Psalm 91:11 NIV
"For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
This was the verse, actually picked out by my mom, for our oldest son Trey. Right after he was born, there was a situation where he turned blue and both of our blood pressures shot down. Our midwife just "happened" to walk by to tell us she was leaving. She immediately grabbed him and hit him on the back until he started breathing again. It all happened so quickly, but we believe at that moment, that God sent Kathy to us. We pray that God will keep His angels surrounding Trey to guard him.
