Getting ready...and a few shout-outs :)
I have said it before, but packing and preparing seven for a trip is not for the faint of heart! It is overwhelming to think about being gone for so long. I am a homebody, but I married a traveler :). Do not get me wrong, I am so thankful for this opportunity! There is just a lot to be done. Today we did our big Target run. Whew! Three hours and two shopping carts later, we walked out. And that was after church and lunch with all of the children in tow! Our oldest was such a blessing and a help (as well as the jumbo bag of dum-dums that the baby dug into :).
Twenty-six states...fortunately, I have been getting some great advice from friends & fellow bloggers. I know we will be covered in prayer on this road trip, which we will need! Jen over at Beauty & Bedlam has been helpful, as well as our pastor's wife at Ebenezer Stories :). Also, my husband's cousins have been offering some good laughs on facebook! Gouches are known for travels and crazy adventures. They are hoping for some good material at our family reunion, I am sure! One of the "outlaws" in the family has a very "stylish" blog if you need fashion and decorating tips (I need a bunch, but that is for another time)! Her name is Shannon. And last, but not least, I want to share about the curriculum I will be using and adapting along the way, especially for our youngers. Confessions of a Homeschooler is the blog. The curriculum looks wonderful and was only $18. as an e-book!! I love her blog as she has lots of freebies that she has designed for homeschoolers. The title alone sold me, "Road Trip USA." If you go on her sidebar, you can see it. Great creativity and research already done for me--I love it!
Normally, as those of you who read my blog know, I do not normally link up to a lot to other blogs, but these are some good ones :). Please feel free to comment and offer travel advice! I may not be on a lot as we have much to do in the next five days. But, I do plan to blog about the trip!
For those of you still with me, thanks for making it this far!
