Happy 7th Birthday!!
J is 7!!! We went to dinner (my mom came in town and joined us) at a YUMMY Japanese restaurant. J especially loves rice!
Today my second-born child is seven! I cannot possibly believe that seven years have already passed. I remember the details so well of the night he was born. He has taught us so much. He taught me just how fast a baby really can be born. He has shown me that if you wait too long at home to try to "prove a point" to your husband, that you miss that "drug" window of opportunity during labor/delivery (please do not think I am addicted to drugs, I have never tried them and actually had three of my four delivered without an epidural...sorry, I am getting so way off track here :). He has taught us just how unselfish love can be. He has taught us the importance of understanding God in His Word when He talks about "knitting a child together in His mother's womb." He has forced us to totally rely on God and what it means to put your child's heart (literally) in God's hands. He has shown us what unselfish love looks like in the form of a boy's hugs and kisses. He has opened our eyes and hearts to people that, before, maybe we only would have sympathy for, but now we sympathize/empathize with. He has added such an awesome dimension to our family, that I cannot imagine what it was like before and what it would be like without his being the way God made him.
I do not know if this makes sense...but God understands my heart. Thank you, Lord, for giving us the gift of all of our children. May they all grow up totally sold out to you. Thank you, especially on this day of remembrance and celebration, for J and the treasure he is to our family!

You're son is just adorable! Are you homeschooling him too? I would really be interested to hear what you use and how that is going.
