This blog will finally talk--tomorrow is the Buddy Walk!

Well, I have been trying to figure out how to get started. Tonight, I think I am just going to jump in and finally give it a try! Tomorrow is the Buddy Walk. We have been attending every year since 2000. The National Down syndrome Society has Buddy Walks all over the country (and even in some other countries). The purpose is to raise awareness of Down syndrome to communities. What it means to our family is that this is a day just for J, and those in our city with Down syndrome, that we hope will bring them happiness and joy! That, for this day, they can not feel like they are the ones who are different. They are not the ones with an extra chromosome, it is the rest of who are missing that one chromosome.

We are excited because this year we have several from our homeschool group joining us to volunteer and show support to J. It should be a fun day! Now...if only J would go to sleep :).

Maybe I will get really smart and post a picture or two tomorrow after the Buddy Walk. Hopefully, though, it will not take as long as it did to post the picture of me on my "page" (or whatever you call it--I need a blogging vocabulary list ;).

Good night!
