"Let My People Go"

We have been studying Exodus in our Bible time the last few weeks. Specifically, Pharoah and the plagues. The other day we had just finished eating lunch. I was giving the children their chores, having them clean up after themselves. After a few minutes, my little girl got frustrated, looked at me and said, "You're just like Pharoah. You always make us work." I had to really keep from laughing while explaining to her that Mommy was nothing like Pharoah (on so many levels :). Oh, and of course, the fact that she is not supposed to talk back when Mommy gives her a job! After holding back the laughter, my ten year old son looked at me, smiling, and said, "Well, at least you know she's been paying attention during Bible!"

It is so hard to contol our laughs at times that my husband and I often have to look away or walk out of the room and then deal with the situation once things have returned to "normal." But your 10 year old did have a good point. :)

This reminds me of when my baby brother called me a tyrant at the dinner table--he was probably 5. I mocked him and said he probably didn't even know what a tyrant meant, when he threw the correct definition at me.

Thinking about it, I probably was a tyrant.

At least Pharoah was majestic! :)

I loved the picture of your dear boy holding the sign! I know a little boy who would be doing the same thing!
