Works For Me Wednesday

Works for Me Wednesday

Okay, so it is not anything big, but I keep a large cd case in our van to keep all of the kids movies in. That way, I do not have individual movie cases all in the van. Also, since we have a tv in our van (I am not a huge fan, here, but sometimes it really does come in handy), I try to let it be a "privilege" to watch it. For example, if behavior is good while waiting at the doctor's office or in a store, then we are finished, the kids can watch a movie when we get back in the car. I hope that makes sense!

Oh, and I just remembered my favorite thing that I keep in my van...(drumroll please), a box of wipes!! Granted, I still have one in diapers, but they come in handy for everyone all the time. I keep them right by the baby's seat, but in the floor so when you open the door, there they are!

Clean, happy children when you come and go from the car? Works for Me!

Yep, makes total sense. And I do the wipes thing too....if for no other reason for wiping my hands off after pumping gas! Usually my husband does it for me, but when I have to do it, ugh!, I hate the smell! Blessings ---Lynn

Our kids only get to watch dvd's when we rent a vehicle for my husband's business trips ('cause our car isn't equipped with a player), so whenever my son finds out we are going somewhere he asks if we can get a new car with a dvd!

Let me tell you, those wipes come in handy! We've used them for guacamole blowouts, thrown-up ice cream, and the like. And sometimes I keep a large ziploc of wipes in each row of the van--then I can use the empty ziploc to stuff any ruined clothes or toxic diapers in, if I'm not near a trash can! Speaking from much experience, I'm afraid!!

Works for this mom too! When we finally potty train Chrisy age 5, I'm keeping the wipes in the car!
I am hosting the first ever Down sydrome blog carnival tomorrow August 12th, on Cause of Our Joy http://cause-of-our-joy.blogspot.com . If you have a favorite post about Down syndrome to share, please email it to me ASAP, and I'll post it.
Don't worry if you missed this one, we'll be doing this every week on different blogs, so you can join in another time, or host it yourself. I just thought this would be a great opportunity to get to know one another better and spread Down syndrome awareness.
Hope to see you at the carnival!
