My Quiet Time
Beth Moore at her LPM blog and Sarah at her blog asked us about our quiet time spot. This is not where it always happens, but this is where I like it to happen. With a cup of coffee :). This chair my husband & I like to call "The Thinking Chair" because the shape reminds us of the chair on "Blue's Clues." I have my Southern Living table in the corner by it. On the table, are the navy NIV Bible my mom gave me for my 30th birthday, the pink ESV Bible Harvey gave me for Christmas, and a really cool Bible dictionary from him as well. I also have my journal, some highlighters I like, the current pen of choice (it changes), and whatever quiet time book or Bible study I am currently working on. Which happens to be Beth Moore's "Reflection Series: David." I love writing in it because it is like an old book. Also, on the table is a precept-type Bible study on Exodus (for children) that my oldest does in our homeschool group. A dear friend has written it and although my oldest does it on his own, we go over it together during our homeschool Bible time almost every day.
The Quiet Time does not always happen like I want it to. I do not always get up as early as I should because I do not always go to bed when I should. But, when it does happen, I love that comfy chair with a great view of our bird feeder and our backyard.
So, what about you? Do you have a spot for your quiet time? I would love to know about it if you do!

No, I don't make the purses - no time, but honestly i have not one crafty bone in my body!!! They are $25 plus shipping. Are you interested in a certain one??
It was so great to hear from you! Please do keep in touch at least through the blogging world! Hope to hear from you again - you are welcome to email me directly at

Love Beth Moore, too! I also struggle with staying up too late and not getting up in the morning. You do not want to see my chair of choice right now. I have to straighten it up and then maybe. :)
Look forward to visiting.
Would also love to share with you some of our experiences with a wandering boy. It is enough to put anyone on edge but God's grace is sufficient if we let Him do it for us.
I have a "thinking chair" in my bedroom that is perfect for a quiet time, but I'd have to make it out of my bed, first! The only problem is that when I have a quiet time in my bed, I end up staying there for hours! If I didn't have three little ones who feel the need for breakfast and mothering, I'd be in there all day long! :)
