Kristi's Blog Awards--Blogs I Enjoy

I cannot believe how long it has been since I last blogged. I think of things to write about almost daily, especially when I stalk, I mean read all of my favorites :). Honestly, what keeps me most from posting is just how long it takes me to figure out how to post pictures (which I really want to do) or do anything the least bit "fancy." I have definite ideas of what I want to include in this little read blog-o-mine, but the ideas and reality just do not seem to meet! Do you ever feel that way? I seem to be feeling that way in a lot of my life's areas right now.

So, before I put my very few readers to sleep, I am going to allow my first post of the new year to thank the blogs I frequent by mentioning them here. Now that was a very long sentence!

I will truly try to include a way to link to each of the blogs, but honestly, I do not know if I can pull that one off either!! I promise you, I am not completely clueless. I am a much better reader of blogs, than a doer of blogs :).

Here goes, my big thank you to these wonderful ladies whom I have never met but would love to one day! Oh, yes, and if I was really fancy, I would insert some kind of cool graphic as the "award" you each are getting. Oh well, I am afraid I do not know how to do that either! (I think instead of calling myself "clueless," I will now refer to myself from here on out as "old school"--sounds so much more hip!)

Lisa Whelchel's "Coffee Talk" on her website actually started it all because it was her site that introduced me to Sarah, who I now refer to as my IINMGFF (Internet-I've-Never-Met-Great-Friend-Forever)!

Sarah (my IINMGFF)
She inspires me every time she posts. Well, almost every time. When she does not inspire me, she makes me laugh hysterically! Seriously, it is always one or the other. She also gave me the book, "Mosiac" by Amy Grant, which I enjoyed immensely. She inspired to kick up breakfast a notch or two around my house. She has given me so many great ideas. I wish we lived closer, because she is a friend that I would like to be able to share a cup of coffee with!

Barb (Sarah's aunt)
Just good old fashioned grandmother, crafty goodness. I will seriously always be indebted to Bev for fixing my chocolate chip cookie problem!

Bev (Sarah's mom)
Again, good grandmother goodness (okay, that was a little repetitive wasn't it?). She inspires me with her writing and kindness.

BooMama
Need I say more?! The name says it all! I love her stories, her commentaries on everything essential in life :), and her honesty in her writing! I especially adore Martha & Sissie stories. If you do not know about those two Sassy Southern Belles, you simply MUST go and read now about them. I think that one day, they will be replaced by BooMama & Big Mama, who are quickly following in their footsteps (by way of Target, Old Navy, & Gap). Thank you, Boo, and I am praying for the upcoming trip. P.S. BooMama also gave me a Mandisa cd which I adored and introduced me to my new favorite--MONK & NEAGLE. Love. Them.

Shannon WFMW. Need I say more? Thank you, Shannon, for providing all of the wonderful tips each week!! I love them! I will be praying for you as well.

Alycia Alycia, you have such a sweet attitude. I love your Thankful Thursday writings. They make me think and remember all I have to be thankful for myself. Also, putting faces to all of the courageous soldiers and their families is always a good thing in my opinion. Please let your husband know that families all over America are so grateful for what he and our military are doing.

Lizzie Lizzie has made me think so much. She has a such a strong faith. I cannot imagine what she is going through, but I pray often when I read her posts for her, her sweet son, and husband. I cannot imagine what it would be like to deal with incarceration. I am thankful for how she opens our eyes to her life and lets us all in.

Renee I so appreciate Renee and her blog. She and I are walking a very similar path, both raising a son with Down syndrome. It is always nice when God brings someone in your path that you can share such a special bond with.

Beth Moore I think the name "Beth Moore" says it all. I get so much out of her Bible Studies. I love how she lets us see herself for who she really is on her blog--just a very real woman who is just as prone to bad hair days as the rest of us (although I have yet to see her with bad hair :) who loves to study God's Word and grow in Him. Whew! Another very long sentence--sorry for the English majors out there!

Cyndi I have gotten so many great homeschooling ideas from you. I also love the great cartoons ;). Thank you so much and please keep sharing! I am praying for you guys when God brings you to mind about your upcoming adoption. Congratulations!

Dawn
One of my new favorites :). I love reading Dawn's posts. There are so many great homeschooling and organizational ideas. I confess all that beautiful New England (I think that is where you are from) snow makes me a little jealous!

Anna You inspire me to craft more, simplify, and make good "Schoolhouse Gingerbread!" Seriously, it is a lovely blog with beautiful photographs.

Cindy So many great ideas, so little time! I enjoy reading about your homeschooling journey!

I am sure I have forgotten someone, so I will have to add more. There are so many amazing blogs out there that inspire almost daily. Thanks to you all. Sorry I do not comment very often, but I wanted you to know that I enjoy the reading!!

Kristi, how incredibly sweet! This really touched me today. I have SO enjoyed "meeting you" and love it when you can pop in on your blog and post thoughts (and even pictures!) Your family is beautiful, and so is your heart.

Thanks for your sweet words - and thanks especially for your prayers. I am officially encouraged. :-)

Thanks, Kristi. It's good to see you back. I just wish we lived closer! Then I could hire you to teach #2. :) Just kidding, of course. It is nice to have contact with other Christian families who are walking the same road.

Hi Kristi!
I just "found" you by clicking on one of the books listed as my favorites. It takes you to others who have listed the same book. :)
You and I are the only ones in bloggy world that have "Angel behind the Rocking Chair" listed.

So anyway...here you are. :)

I, too, am a Christian, homeschool, have 4 little ones and...we have recently entered the wonderful world of Down Syndrome!

I got to read a little of your blog and enjoyed it. I will try to catch up with the rest later, but wanted to invite you to mine as well - if you'd be interested. :) Is this weird to do on a comment section??

You'll need to email me at farmingfam(at)gmail(dot)com to be added to my "approved readers" list though. I have a "closed" blog.)

Would love to "hear" from you!

Have a wonderful day!
