School Days!

Well, school is up and running here. We are getting ready to start week 4, I believe. It is hectic, to be sure, but it is so nice to be back in a routine! Once I finally "released" myself from trying to achieve the perfect schoolroom, lesson plans, etc., it was great to begin! What I did that helped me tremendously was really a small thing, but worked for me. I cleaned the schoolroom so it was not as cluttered, made clean workspaces for each child, brought a desk back in for me (this has been great, because I really needed a desk again for school), and then made a list of all the things I wanted to get done but did not happen. Now, I can look at the list and when I get a little bit of free time, I can mark something off the list. Probably sounds silly to most, but I kept procrastinating the start of our school because I wanted everything to be, well, perfect. Once I realized that perfection just was not going to happen (at least not if I wanted to start school anytime in 2008 :), it really helped.

Anyhoo... I will try to post some pictures of our schoolroom and the first day of school. But who knows if that will happen! That is all for now. I will post more later about the curriculum we use.
