My Bookends

When my mom had her heart attack last March, my oldest sister and I spent a lot of time together doing "shift work" at the hospital. My other siblings were there and would come and go a lot but usually not on our shift. Since when we were both there we had each come in from out of town, we would get there and pretty much stay. We had a lot of time to talk together, which does not happen often since I am usually tending to or chasing :) my children when the family is together. Anyhow, we started calling ourselves the "Bookends," since she is the oldest in our family of five and I am the youngest. There are sixteen years between us. I love that adulthood has bridged our age gap. I love each of my siblings so much.

This picture made me think of MY bookends :). There is a twelve year age gap with oldest and youngest. I hope they will grow up to be close. He is the one who made me a Mother and I will always treasure him for that. She is the one who will in all probability be my last on this journey and I will always treasure her for that. I treasure each of my children in a special way, but for this post, I will let the focus just be on these two.

T, I love you and the young man you are becoming. You are such a good big brother. Baby Queen, you have already brought so much joy into our lives. We all just love you!

Sweet photos of hands and feet that I pray will be one day used for God's glory!

(After seeing these photos, I feel a need to write a book or something...you know, "Big foot, little foot. Big hand, little hand." But I won't write it, I think someone else already covered that one :).

Kristi! Your posts always leave me with goosebumps! I can't believe how big little Elizabeth is already. And I haven't gotten my hands on her yet. Adelaide has been sick, but after the sniffies go away, I'd love to swing by and deliver some goodies (and paperwork). I'll be in touch!
