Happy 7th Birthday, Princess!!

For her birthday this year, Rebekah wanted a "PJ Party!" We had the best time. We invited family for a cookout, asking that the cousins wear their pjs to the party. Unfortunately, not everyone could come. But we sure had fun with those who were able to be here! Rebekah picked out matching pjs for she and her baby sister. When the cousins arrived, we had each one put their handprint on a pillowcase for Rebekah, and then they each got to paint their own. We had fun together, as always!

Just for fun, my silly husband even wore his bathrobe over his clothes! Two of my sisters came, but they did not wear their pjs. I guess I should not be too surprised. When our oldest turned 2 we had a cowboy-themed party. What did my family do? They showed up dressed as INDIANS!! They are such non-conformists! I guess they can laugh at me all they want, but I sure was a lot comfier than they were :). Wearing pjs at parties might become a new tradition. Oh, I kid, I kid!

"The Queen and the Princess" (My mom is such a great sport--she wore her "Queen" pjs and posed with our little Princess :).

These two call each other "World's Best Cousins." They always have fun together!

This was a fun cake to make. I am not the greatest at all at cake decorating. But, I do it for the kids. This idea was on the Family Fun website, I believe. I used Cake Doctor Cookbook recipes for the cake and the chocolate buttercream frosting. The "bodies" under the covers are actually Twinkies and Nilla Wafers for the heads :). I used one to represent each of our children. Originally, I had thought about one for each cousin, but the cake would not have been able to hold that many Twinkies (17 total, not including our kids)!

Although it was messy, everyone really enjoyed decorating their own pillowcases!

I cannot believe that 7 years ago, our Little Princess was born. What joy and laughter you have brought into our lives, Rebekah! We love you so very much!

What a fun party! I loved seeing your pics. We had a cake like that a few years ago for my Rebecca's birthday. She had a "pretend sleepover".

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm enjoying reading yours too. You mentioned meeting me at NCHE. Will you be there this year? I will and would love to meet again.

Blessings
