November Thankfulness

This morning I am thankful for a trash man named Aquarius and the help of two eager little boys ;).  For 13 years our trash man has come on Mondays.  Then, a couple of months ago, they changed to Fridays.  Fridays!!  Do you know how hard it is to remember on Thursday nights to take the cans around?!  Especially when the whole family has had the stomach flu?  Do you know just how important it is to get your trash emptied when your whole family has had the stomach flu?  Well, of course you do...sorry I asked :(.

Anyhow, right after Harvey left for work this morning I heard the trash trucks and quickly looked out the window to confirm what I knew was true:  no trash can fairy had come and taken our cans to the road (just like no cleaning fairy has come to clean our house after this yucky week)!!  I knew we had some time for the trucks to get through our neighborhood before exiting, so after getting ready, I recruited two little boys (who have been feeling much better for days I must add ;)  and had them help me.  About that time, the nice trash man named Aquarius saw me and yelled for me to take my cans to the neighbor across the street and he would pick them up there.  After he did so, he started to walk the cans back over to us.  The boys and I retrieved the cans from him and I apologized and thanked him.  He was so kind and told me it was no problem.  He had a friendly smile and waved to the boys.

It may be small , but I am thankful, oh, so thankful that our cans got emptied , little boys were able and eager to help, and I got to personally thank someone who has a job that I am glad gets done every week!  Now, if only there was a truck that could come in my house and do our laundry...:)!
