Closing 2010, Part 2

Our firstborn, Trey...how is possible that you are 14 years old?  You are now officially taller than I am, which makes you very happy :).  I am certain that you have grown since school started, and maybe even since Thanksgiving!  You keep eating, exercising, and growing.  I hear this is what teen aged sons do :).

You still love sports, and basketball is still your favorite one to play and probably to watch, if I were to ask you.  You love the competition in the home school league you play in.  You love to play well and get frustrated when you feel you have not done your best.  You still work hard and take the advice of your coach.  It is fun to watch you play, although I do get rather excited and nervous!

I love to watch how you are developing as a student this year, especially in the areas of organization and time management.  You definitely love your check-off lists, which I think will help you in life!

This year, your Dad and I were proud of you when you started your own lawn mowing business in our neighborhood.  You even saved enough money to buy your own mower!  It took courage, determination, organization, and  entrepreneurial skills, all of which you exhibited!

You love your siblings and they love you!  You patiently handle situations with your brothers (most of the time :).  I am proud of you for not complaining about sharing a room with the other two boys.  It is crowded and can definitely be a little crazy with the other two, but you handle it with maturity.

Among all of the qualities I have mentioned about you, I am happiest that you are born again and desire to serve God.  You have a heart for those who are hurting; I pray that you will never lose that.  I know in life it will not always be easy for you, but your Dad and I pray that you will continually seek to find contentment in Christ.  You will only be truly happy if you are committed to Him.

We love you Trey!
