Day 6, Short & Sweet
Dear Austin, I am sorry but we have a strange relationship. Your bridges, as all in TX, are beautiful. But they are confusing. Do you not believe in letting us know when to use your exits?
Your bats? Under the bridge? For all to see every night? They are rather uncooperative. My husband REALLY wants to see droves of bats come out at night. Carlsbad Caverns let him down last year. You did a little better for him, but not much, I am afraid.
Apparently Jimmy Buffett was in town which would explain why many Texans were wearing leis downtown on a summer night. You confuse me, Austin.
But. Your capitol building? It delighted me. It was huge. And gorgeous. And had a beautiful
star-studded wrought-iron gate surrounding it. Thank you, Austin, for your beautiful capitol building. Now, we will move on to San Antonio.
P.S. I am sorry, Stephen. I know Austin is your favorite city. I tried to like it. Maybe we needed you for a tour guide :).
This restaurant was delightful. The name really made us happy, as this is the name of one of the Gouch family mobile home parks. So, when Harvey saw that he could eat at Shady Grove??? And then he found out that it actually used to be a mobile home park??? Well, let's just say that you can take the man out of the mobile home park, but you can't take the mobile home park out of the man :).
Check out the airstream behind the kids :).
Lovely girl. Lovely capitol building :).
Carried by HIS Grace,
