Spring Post in October~Oops!

I just found this draft of a post I wrote in the spring...well, I guess better late than never ;)!

Well, this is embarrassing! I just realized how long it has been since I last blogged. This new year is flying! Around here, school is keeping us very busy. We finished Trey's basketball season with our home school league in March. It ended with a national tournament at Liberty University, our Alma mater. It is a big commitment to participate in Varsity home school basketball, but it sure is fun to watch my oldest play something he enjoys so much :). Jonathan sat on the bench with the team at almost every game, helping out as an assistant coach. He really loves the guys on the team (especially his big brother). We found out towards the end that he also never failed to let the coach know when he thought his brother needed more playing time. Ha! Love that boy :).

I also did some fun activities with the younger kids celebrating our 100th Day of School. Nothing super fancy, but things they enjoyed. One of my favorites was making a list of 100 things for which we were thankful :).

During Easter, we read "Amon's Adventure" by Arnold Ytreeide. Oh, it was so good and I highly recommend it! A few nights before, we also had a family dinner and then borrowed Ann Voskamp's idea of a crown of thorns. We set aside some toothpicks and asked the kids in the days leading up to Easter to place a toothpick (representing the thorns) and place it into the crown when they did something wrong and then remember with thankfulness the grace of Jesus when he forgives our sins.

I hope your spring was a good one!
