Day Fifteen
A tough day in Philly, but the positives were...
We found a parking space in a big city in under an hour,
they let us in on a tour that we thought we had missed,
most of the historical attractions were close together,
all but one park ranger were very kind and helpful,
the scariest mall food court ever ended up providing us with a cheap lunch and more CHICK FIL A SWEET TEA,
while walking along the streets we only heard one angry preacher with bodyguards, a Bible, and a microphone yelling about hoes and herpes,
the hotel we had booked that did not work out as planned found us a bigger hotel room for only $20 more and that included breakfast,
Priceline refunded us our money for the first hotel (that did not seem to appreciate that 7 of us wanted to share one room with only one queen bed),
after Harvey had parked our van in a non-refundable $43 parking garage, we were still able to walk to the new hotel, even though all 7 of us had our luggage, plus a wheelchair (boy, did we get some looks) through the streets of Philly,
while on our parade of kids and luggage, we only had to walk several blocks instead of several miles (I am grasping at straws here),
while we were parading through the streets with kids and luggage, only one person actually said something aloud ("I've seen that family on the news"),
the Moe's that closed down that Harvey walked to for supper ended up not being too far from a Qdoba and a Starbuck's (because after this day, you'd better believe I needed some coffee ;),
and finally...
I gave my mom a really good laugh that night when I told her all of our crazy stories from the day. And it was really good to hear my mom laugh. Hearing her laugh reminded me that God carried us through another day.
This is how we roll in Philly ;)
