Day Two

Day two started out when we visited the church of some long-time friends of ours.  Ken & Paula Cordray were our Sunday School teachers years ago when we had Benjamin.  He dedicated Benjamin and baptized Trey in the same day, and it was even his first dedication & baptism!  They felt God call them five years ago to plant a church in Pittsburgh.  We were excited to see them again and to hear Ken preach at his church, where they seem to have a sweet fellowship of believers.  It was a good message and time of praise and worship. He reminded us that what we give ourselves to is what we love, and that we were made to worship and love God.

After church and a time of visiting with Ken & Paula, we ate at a local place, Primanti Brothers.  It was an experience!  We always like to check out the local "flavor" of cities, and this definitely was different!  It may have been the tallest sandwich I have ever attempted to eat, complete with slaw and french fries on the sandwich.

We then toured the University of Pittsburgh.  They have a building with classrooms from all over the world.  During the school year, they are actual classrooms used for the students.  Not all of them were open, but many were.  They were fascinating!  The Ukranian, Austrian, & Israeli classrooms were probably my favorites.

After the classrooms, we visited briefly the museum at Fort Pitt before they closed, as well as rode the Duquesne Incline.  The weather was overcast and not too hot.  Because of the bridges and water, in some ways Pittsburgh reminded us all somewhat of Cleveland, OH.

We ended our day in Erie, Pennsylvania.  We were thankful today for little to no traffic and pleasant weather.  These trips are tough, even when we are seeing such cool things.  We are in close quarters, food doesn't always agree with all 7 of us, and being away from extended family that we are close to is  hard.  Please do not get me wrong, we are grateful and counting our blessings.

Enough of me, here are some pictures from today :)...
